Martyn’s Law in Wales
The Act applies across the UK, Wales included, and the SIA regulates it in Wales as in England. We are based in Pembrokeshire and work on site across South and West Wales.
Martyn’s Law applies in Wales in the same way as in England: the same tiers, the same duties, the same SIA regulator. Its Welsh title is Deddf Terfysgaeth (Diogelu Mangreoedd) 2025. It is expected to come into force in spring 2027.
Can you visit in South and West Wales?
Across Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion we can walk the building with you, write the procedures and brief staff on the day. Because a fire risk assessment uses the same information — occupancy, escape routes, the responsible person — we can do both in one visit, and make sure the two plans agree.
Premises we see most in West Wales: pubs and hotels with function rooms, chapels and churches, village halls, holiday park clubhouses, agricultural shows and wedding venues.
Everywhere else in the UK
For standard-tier premises the work can be done remotely: floor plan, photos and a phone video walk-round, then the procedures and a video-call staff briefing.
Before you pay anyone: the Home Office says premises do not need to buy consultancy to meet the standard tier, and its guidance, the SIA’s guidance and the ProtectUK training are free. Neither the Home Office nor the SIA endorses any provider, including us. The legal responsibility stays with the person responsible for the premises; we help with the work, we do not take the duty off you.
